According to environmental legislation, the use of chromium 6 in zinc plating will be phased out globally in the near future. Tri-Sure® has developed a new chromium 3 passivation that is not only better for the environment, but also creates a safer workplace. This will result in a visible color change of Tri-Sure® zinc plated closures from gold to platinum. All Tri-Sure® manufacturing plants will be standardized on chromium 3 passivation. For more information please check out our Frequently Asked Questions or contact your local Tri-Sure® representative.

Regulatory requirements and food safety initiatives ask for enhanced product specifications for paints and linings. Current linings fulfill all the EC and FDA requirements for food application, but they are not completely free from BPA. In anticipation of the new regulations for BPA free packaging, we have developed two linings that do not contain BPA. These are the linings RDL® 100 and RDL® 101. They may be used to pack a broad range of products, especially in food applications where BPA content is a concern. Our food compliant RDL® linings provide the optimal barrier for protecting your products against influences from the steel packaging and safeguarding our environment from aggressive contents.
